Description
The Slab Caller’s reputation in the Southeast comes down to its ability to trigger strikes from slab crappie, bluegill, and small bass without requiring much room to work. At 1/16 oz, these lures are light enough to cast on light tackle and drop straight down where fish are hiding around shallow cover—docks, brush, and stumps. The vibrating body and tight wobble send out vibrations that mimic small baitfish, and the lime and chartreuse colors stay visible in murky water and low-light conditions. Fish them on a simple jig rod with 4- to 6-pound monofilament, or even a cane pole if you’re working close quarters.
