AnthraxBadlandsSept. 3rd found some of us at Back 40 heading west on I-94 with dreams of chasing some bucks in the Badlands. After the 10 hour drive from my house, and the 12-14 hour drive for my counterparts in Central WI, we were ready to get out of the trucks and do some hunting.

On opening day, hunting doesn’t actually begin until 12:00 pm, so we had time to get our gear sorted out and be out glassing soon after sun up. Jerod and I headed north as Kevin, Ryan and Matt, (AKA Anthrax) all headed south. We soon had deer in the glass, but nothing we pinned our hopes on.

cudde_4This is the first season that I have been using Cuddeback’s newest addition to it’s line of high quality trail cameras, the Capture IR. I put my first set of cameras out in the middle of May thinking that it would take me some time to get used to the camera and to work out any of the bugs. After the initial warm up period, I can honestly say that this is the easiest camera I have ever used. This is saying alot from a self diagnosed trail camera addict!

cuddebackI have been running my Cuddeback cameras hard now since May15th. This is the first year that I have used the IR’s and I have nothing but good things to say. The biggest surprise is the quality of pictures and the amount of battery life compared to other cameras I have used. Back 40 will be running a full gear review of the new Cuddeback IR cameras soon. Just a reminder to all of you out there, hunting season is right around the corner. On August 1-2 in the Rogers and Owatonna, MN stores, Cabelas will be hosting the Archery Classic. This is a great opportunity to check out all the new archery products for ‘09 . Stan Potts will be giving seminars in Rogers as will Joel Harris in Owatonna.
